The making of art is what aids me in recalling forgotten moments of my past.  These scintillas of time are often minor occurrences or interactions with people or nature, but I see them as pivitol segments in an elaborate sequence of events, leading to the present.  It is my hope that the viewer will sense, from that motivation which inclines me to paint,  an obligation to illuminate those darkened puzzle pieces of his or her own personal history.  SM

 

Shawn Meharg was born in Southern Ontario in 1967, completed his education at the University of Mississippi, worked as a theatrical scenic artist and designer throughout many branches of the entertainment industry and began his journey as an artist in 2001.  He resides in Orange Park, Florida.
